This is has been in my mind for a long time. I’m not suggesting this is the final statement, but it is an exploratory draft.
If we could have a document vision people could read out at gatherings, it could pave the way for a mission statement, where we all discuss how to make the vision real.
See what you think.

The Vision Statement, (A Draft)
The Vision
When I close my eyes to the reality of our troubled world, I can see another Australia waiting for us. It’s just there, a courageous heartbeat or two, beyond my view.
Its streets look like our streets, except all the cameras have been removed.
There are schools there waiting, hungry to teach our children how to think, so that they can understand the tools that life has given them, freely.
Tools they can utilise in their journey to explore all the borders of their possibilities, in order that they can discover, who it is that our Universe wants them to be, and once found, they can add their liberating revelation to the tapestry of individuals, who together are creating this new Australia.
They are schools where our Teachers will be revered, because ultimately they will be determined to teach our children one core lesson,
“Nescis quam potens sis, sic disce.”
You don't know how powerful you are, so learn.
And once we arrive at this reachable country, our children’s sexuality will be left for them to discover, at their own pace, without pressure, without judgement. For all who live there, will want our children to celebrate the innocence of their childhood, for as long as they individually require.
There are cafés there too, just like ours, and restaurants and bars, but if you listen you will hear the difference, for many of the people are talking passionately, yet pragmatically about the issues of our growing country. Rigorous debates, where free speech is used to identify and breakdown problems in a search for the solutions that are awaiting to be found in the common ground that unites us.
And I can see our men. Their heads are up, their chests are out, as they stride down all the developing streets. Not only have these men embraced the responsibility of nurturing and protecting this contemporary Australia, but they will be committed to cementing our cultures foundational freedoms and goals. Essential, long reaching work, that will be so worthy, that this worth itself will let them know, that they are needed.
I see the possibility for young mothers to decide whether to be a working mother or to stay-at-home, with neither belittling the others’ choice. And to make sure those who chose to stay at home can afford to do this; the community will have long decided to value the overall health of all our children above material gain, which is why we will strive to keep the cost of living in check. In this new Australia, families will not be penalised by poverty, for choosing to be the parents they feel they want to be.
There are medical clinics there too, similar to ours, except the doctors and nurses who will work there, will be allowed to take the time they need to foster relationships with those of us who will need their help. Private relationships, where the government is absent, and the people revere these medical professionals because they wholistically live up to their difficult pledge of giving the people, what they need from their medical professionals, empathy and the truth.
I see young people proudly taking selfies with Police officers, for the police there will be respected for the diligence they will give to the duty of being the heroes of this land. The ones amongst us, who will have voluntarily stepped forward to not only live up to, but they will be prepared to put their life on the line, for their solemn creed to serve and protect, us.
There are fresh places of Worship, where their spiritual leaders will be free to focus on becoming the nurturing navigators for all those who feel their souls need guidance, solace.
And there are journalist too, larrikins resolved to uphold their vital responsibility, protect society from the hunger of those who would seek personal power, via the erosion of our Liberty. I can hear them calling out injustice, and using free speech to challenge our politicians, for once there, their gags of political correctness will be removed, and placed in a museum we will call ‘regret’. A building filled with the images of our time, of lockdowns, and masks and rubber bullets so that we will always remember, how fear almost drove us all to, an Australia we would have been ashamed of. A lesson we learned.
Now I understand that from here, it is hard to see the problems that those whose reach there will face, but I sense that they will deal with them with the tools of courage, and critical thinking, with a leaning always to defending our individual right to freedom.
Finally, I can see the natural leaders amongst us rising to become our Politicians. Leaders who are driven to unite us, and to give us all purpose via their vision, communal dreams that the public are encouraged to be actively engaged in, as together they forge the policies that will affect us all.
Look further too and you will see business selling products that are manufactured to last, because the tradesmen have relearnt their community building skills, and will now teach these crafts to those who want to learn.
And there are flags flying everywhere, declaring how proud we are of what we have built and are building, and our national anthem is sung with gusto, for our lyrics are no longer our lie, but a foundation to build upon, and a dream to reach.
Can you see it? It is glowing in the distance, and reflected like a candle of hope, flickering in your childrens eyes.
It is beckoning us towards it, for it wants us to paint its streets with all the miracles of our humanity.
And if you don’t reach it, if you fall on the long journey there, then your courage, for at least setting out towards it, will become a guiding light for those following to navigate by. Those who will one day reach this awaiting land; this revitalised Australia, that the rest of the world will look upon as proof that when determination uses courage for fuel, and love for measure, then we are all capable of amalgamating of our hopes and dreams, into a culture, so vibrant and inclusive, that each of our souls will know, that this is more than a country, this is our home.
