Adrifting comes to Bayside Melbourne
"It says so much about the power of women and the frailty of mankind. If only we all had the strength of Margaret . . . I love it" Amanda Muggleton
Before the world closed down this heartwarming , poignant and very funny play had an airing in a small theatre in kew, At this time we, Rohana and Michael, had our theatre company firing. We had several plays in various stages of production and this play was seen as a HIT!
In fact we were heading to get it up on a bigger stage with Amanda Muggleton and Tottie Goldsmith. Both who loved the play!
Amanda Muggleton’s quote after reading it back in 2019

Amanda Muggleton To Play Margaret in Michael Gray Griffith's comedy/drama
"Adrifting Through The Vomit Generation"

And we are bringing back the plays one by one and to start, due to money, time and actors we are presenting them in the style of a 1950’s radio play. You still see and hear the energy and flavour of these fabulous characters but it’s not a full production. A full production takes time and money and so we want to glean interest from audience members and possibly even funders. This play is very pertinent and can provide entertainment and connect the community through the clever script which gives a clear message just through the souls of these 4 characters.
I do hope you can come. Please let us know if you’re not booking as we need a certain amount of numbers to pay everyone.
Many thanks, Rohana…..

‘Adrifting’, a Heartwarming and fabulous Comedy is coming to Cheltenham.
Taylor is a brilliant young photographer with a problem - he can only photograph the truth.
But, since no one wants the truth he’s been hiding in his room.
On the eve of eviction he is being offered 3 different futures by 3 strong women. His Mother, who wants to protect him, her friend, who wants him to become rich by taking glam shots and his crazy Grandmother, who wants him to embrace his gift by becoming an independent photojournalist.
Now in order to adapt to this era where funding for new theatre is scarce, we are initially staging this play in the style of a 1950's radio play.
A production of this play was staged just before Covid shut down the theatres and the audiences were raving. So if you're after a laugh and possibly a few tears, this is a very enjoyable and affordable night. Come also to hear some new Kulture music. We make this a wonderfully creative evening.
Book through Try Booking or cash on the door.
Cost of tickets: $2
REVIEWS “Very funny, poignant and relevant just as good as big shows at the MTC” Diane De Stefano
“I loved this play. A comedy that addresses love’s lost and won death, social issues, unemployment, sickness, wealth and poverty but also celebrates the love of life albeit at times with fruity language and humour . A brilliant script by Michael Gray Griffith
"Just seen the play Adrifting Through the Vomit Generation. As quirky as it's tital. Very relevant and funny with the use of the best throw away lines. Rohana had incredible stage presents she stole the show. Thank you all for a very entertaining afternoon of theatre. I recommend people go to this play. It is great theatre
~Jain Thompson.
A very clever and thought-provoking performance by all of you. It's interesting how sometimes reality ( which often seems a step out of our so called daily lives ) can be confronting ..... turn it on its head with a touch of comedy and we can see how our materialistic world cheats us of enjoying true humanity. Well portrayed in Michael's writing
