Michael And the Wolves Theatre Company Are back
Pre Covid, Rohana and Michael’s theatre company, ‘The Wolves’ was thriving and growing, but after the theatre’s re-opened Michael, with Rohana’s full support, made a statement, online, that the Wolves would never play to segregated audiences. That very day Michael started Café Locked Out, and destiny swept him away.
While he has many followers, this is what the establishment thinks of his work with CLO.
“Given Michael's COVID-era evolution into a lie-spewing anti-vaxxer who associated with some frankly pretty vile people, I can't in good faith support this production on 3RRR I'm afraid. ~Richard Watts 3RRR”
Adrifting was the play the pandemic shut down, and the one we are bringing back first.
Unfortunately, as for most of the arts, finances are tough, so to start we are producing Adrifting in the style of a 1950’s radio play. A polished rehearsed reading that promises to be a lot of fun.
Synopsis
Along with her anxiety ridden son, Taylor and her crazy and broke (once wealthy) friend Magnolia, Di is marooned in her suburban house that is just about to be repossessed.
All three are defiantly trying to hang on to their individual dreams that they secretly know are now out of their reach.
Their only real hope is if Margaret, Di’s wealthy but stingy Mother, who is
heading to see them from interstate, will bail them out.
To Di’s astonishment Margaret arrives in a Winnebago and wants them to
give up their dreams and the house and hit the road with her. Full of energy, she is convinced that beyond the ruins of their Great Australian Dream, lies a deeper, far more adventurous and satisfying life.
Is she crazy?

REVIEWS
Review by Meredith Fuller psychologist | author | theatre maker
Fresh from his tour de force, “Marooned” where he lifts the lid on suicide, Michael Gray Griffith has penned another smash hit that portrays the female archetypes of our time. A tragi-comedy, this will have you howling with both laughter and sadness or discomfort.
Four people confront major issues that reverberate for us all.
You get to the last part of your life after failed relationships and disappointments in our ageist society, and you could lose your house.
Who are you becoming and who do you profess to be?
How do you deal with betrayal and the terror of letting go of what you know? Are you too afraid to hold on and too afraid to let go?
Towards the end of your life, you understand the meaning of life. How does that go down in our materialistic, silo society when wish to share your wisdom?
What does surrender have to do with love?
Modifying that line from Tim Robbins in ‘the Shawshank Redemption’, do we get busy living or stay busy dying?
Simultaneously, we’re accosted with society’s cruelty in taking away women’s sovereignty over selfhood. From our bodies to our minds.
Michael Gray Griffith is that rare playwright who can write female dialogue that pierces our hearts. He also pinpoints what ails us as a society.

“ I loved this script” Amanda Muggleton
"Just seen the play Adrifting Through the Vomit Generation. As quirky as it's title. Very relevant and funny with the use of the best throw away lines. I recommend people go to this play. It is great theatre
~Jain Thompson.
A very clever and thought provoking performance by all of you . It's interesting how sometimes reality ( which often seems a step out of our so called daily lives ) can be confronting ..... turn it on it's head with a touch of comedy and we can see how our materialistic world cheats us of enjoying true humanity. Well portrayed in Michael's writing
~Sue Rosenwax
“ Michael Gray Griffith is an outstanding playwright”
~Aarne Neeme
The Fu%%$cking best play I’ve seen in a long time.
~ Liz Squires

~Leanne Wallace
“Very funny, poignant and relevant just as good as big shows at the MTC”
~Diane De Stefano
“I loved this play. A comedy that addresses love’s lost and won death, social issues, unemployment, sickness, wealth and poverty but also celebrates the love of life albeit at times with fruity language and humour . A brilliant script by Michael Gray Griffith
