However I can't agree about the IQ thing: the test was devised in Europe therefore coming from European conditions. The demands of the European environment required certain aspects of the mind to be developed. The demands of the environment in hot countries required other aspect of the mind to be developed. I believe it is a skewed test.
I wouldn't classify Australia as a genuine democracy. It is, and always has been, a plutocracy. Being allowed to vote every few years is essentially meaningless, which surely the past five years has amply demonstrated. "If voting could make a difference, they wouldn't let you do it" and "It doesn't matter who you vote for, the government always wins."
