The Historic Town of York is small and so is Monique and yet this soft spoken, deep listening mother has been the driving force; the empathetic visionary who has managed to heal the rifts between some of the people and the council.
Her initial goal was to end the towns mandates, despite McGown’s shadow, but her new goal, which is already underway, is to set up a mental health refuge for what she believes will be an unprecedented and crying need for mental, spiritual and physical health.
Using only respect, determination, acknowledgement, patience and love to heal deep rifts, may not make her the sexiest news item, but she should be interviewed, for in a tsunami of fear her calm courageous accomplishments are profound, and her vision, and if it’s anything we need it’s visionaries, could see her dreams/plans reach out much further than York.
